Newborns

Any temperature in a newborn above 100.4°F is a sign of a potentially serious infection. Newborns may simply be listless or sleep more in response to an infection, so an elevated body temperature may be the only sign of illness. If your baby's temperature is over 100.4°F, unwrap them from blankets, take off jackets and let their bodies cool from any excessive heat retention. Then take the child's temperature rectally if possible for the most accurate results. A forehead thermometer is less accurate, but it is still more reliable than a thermometer under the baby's arm.

Infants

For infants three months to six months of age, the American Academy of Pediatrics says you should call the doctor if the child's temperature is over 101°F. For babies over six months of age, contact your doctor if the child's temperature is over 103°F. Any fever over 107°F at any age will cause brain damage. As with newborns, an internal temperature such as one taken rectally or with an infrared thermometer across the forehead is better than an external temperature. Use a digital thermometer to minimize the risk of error and so that you can take multiple readings in a short period of time. Ear thermometers are not reliable for very young children, since their ears are so shallow. Temperature strips are not accurate on any child. The parent's hands may artificially warm it while a child's sweat can cool it, rendering it inaccurate.

For babies over six months of age, you should also consult with a medical practitioner if the child's temperature is over 101°F for a several days or over 100°F after being given fever reducing medication. Regardless of the child's temperature, seek help if is accompanied by worsening symptoms such as severe cough, vomiting, diarrhea or a rash. Always call the doctor if your child  cannot breathe, is becoming severely dehydrated, suffers a seizure or has become unresponsive. If your baby cannot swallow, has a stiff neck or has not urinated for twelve hours, seek medical attention, regardless of your child's temperature.

School-Aged Children For school-aged children, any fever over 103°F is considered serious. If the fever cannot be reduced with fever reducing medication or seems to be rising, seek medical help, regardless of the temperature reading. However, you need to be careful to get an accurate reading before rushing to the doctor.

At this age, you can consider using oral thermometers. Get rid of your mercury filled thermometers and glass thermometers, since they are dangerous if your child bites down and breaks it in his or her mouth. Use a digital ear thermometer for greater reliability and safety. At this age, placing thermometers in the armpit for at least one minute is an option if you do not want to use an ear thermometer or take the child's temperature orally.

At 104°F, get in touch with your doctor for advice. Above 104°F, you must get medical help. If your child has a sore throat, severe skin rash or trouble breathing, get medical help, regardless of the child's body temperature. If your child is continually vomiting or has diarrhea over several days, see a doctor. If your child has a fever at any temperature and severe stomach pain, go to the hospital, since this could be a sign of appendicitis.

Renting

New programs are popping up all over the country that allow students to rent textbooks instead of buying them every time they need them. Renting textbooks works like this.

You pay a small fee (usually between $20 and $50), and are given the textbook that you need for a class for the entire semester. Then, after exam week is over, you’re required to give the textbook back to the bookstore so that they can give it out to a new group of kids in the following semester.

If you’re the daring type, you may be able to get away with not buying the textbook for a certain class at all. Look at it this way; If you don’t buy the textbook on the first day of class, chances are it’s still going to be available whenever you want to head out and pick it up. The majority of the hair repair products that are available today tend to act by coating the hair to protect it or disguise the damage in some other way. Moisture

Also look in your mirrors to see how well the cars behind you show up. In winter, when the sun is low behind you, the cars coming towards you may be well lit by it, giving you a false impression of how easily you can be seen. Most cars with this sort of binnacle have a warning light to show when lights are on, which would also be useful on cars whose light switches do not make it easy to see if they are on. So, for starters, there are a number of factors that play a key role in deciding what software to go for. These would be cost, platform, effects and ease of use. Let's discuss each of these, respectively, together with the nature of the market. I'll just talk about products that are entirely appropriate for you.

The cost of the software really depends on two things. Firstly, will the package give you all the tools for professional use? Or are you looking for something more practical, or even free? If you are looking for the best of the best, I would say Adobe Premier Pro is the best for your money as it will give you everything you need to do professional work.

If you are still serious, but do not need professional video editing software or cannot afford the Adobe Premier Elements, there are still many options available. I recommend using Windows Movie Maker. It’s a decent package that is easy to use, and it’s free. Also remember you can always save money, and upgrade later.

The main thing about the platform is that this ensures that you will be able to use the video. Fortunately, Adobe Premier Pro and the Elements will work on all major platforms, and can be put in any video format you want. If you’re on the free side of Windows, this limits you to Windows Media AVI and its weaknesses.

Also, consider how you will use this product. Do you want to burn the final product onto a DVD? Well, then you can use Adobe Premiere Pro and Elements to record directly unto DVDs that will play in any player.

The special effects are the main components of any video editing software, and with Adobe Premier Pro, you cannot go wrong. As for Windows Movie Maker, its use is limited. You might find it somewhat boring, and you might also bore your audience in the process.

Any software actually will do; just consider the one that will help you, and you’d find yourself relaxing as it is fun to use.

So, for my last recommendation, I say, if you’re an advanced user, then you might want to use all the features of Adobe Premier Pro, but if you are a beginner who is on a budget, then go for Adobe Elements and you cannot go wrong. Using Adobe Premier means you are using the best software available for video editing. If you are looking for good software, consider getting the best tax software.

Nowadays, employees are starting to appreciate the value of the FSA in their employee benefits package, whether offered by the employer or not. There are two basic flexible spending accounts in a cafeteria plan that employees can take advantage of: Medical Expense FSA and Dependent Care FSA.

Medical Expense

For medical expenses that are not covered by traditional insurance plans, the medial expense FSA pays for such expenses. The most common expenses include over-the-counter items, co-payments, coinsurance and deductibles for the employee’s health insurance plan.

Over-the-counter items are those that are not considered drugs or medicines, such as rubbing alcohol, bandages, first aid kits, etc. However, drugs and medicines can also be reimbursed under the FSA medical plan. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) mandated that such over-the-counter medications can be qualified for reimbursement as long as there is a doctor’s prescription, except for insulin. The PPACA has also made amendments to Section 125 that prohibits employees to elect an amount of more than $2,500 annually, starting on January 2013.

Dependent Care

This type of FSA is used for care expenses for dependents while the employee is at work. Dependent care can mean child care for children below 13 years old, but may also be for children above that age who are physically or mentally incapable of caring for themselves. Aside from that, dependent care FSA may also be used for adult day care for senior citizens, such as parents or grandparents living with the employee. To qualify for dependent care benefits, the dependent must be declared as a dependent on the employee’s federal tax return.

The downside is that the benefit cannot be used for summer camps and long term care for parents who are living elsewhere. Additionally, the benefit is federally capped at $5,000 annually per household. For the FSA to work both married spouses have to be employed and withdrawals can only be equivalent to the total amount contributed during the plan year. If the other spouse is unable to work due to disability or studies, the working spouse’s total benefit will not exceed annual income.
